Applying for Aid

Once you have applied to Blessing-Rieman College of Nursing & Health Sciences and have determined your eligibility for financial aid, you can begin applying for all types of aid, including scholarships, loans, and grants.

FAFSA

The first and most important step in applying for financial aid is to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and send it to the federal processor. You cannot receive financial aid until this form has been processed.

A FAFSA can be filed at any time throughout the academic year. Please check with the Financial Aid Office if you are uncertain about the academic year needed for your enrollment.

BRCN encourages financial aid applicants to import tax information from the IRS using the IRS Data Retrieval Tool. The IRS Data Retrieval tool saves times and reduces the probability of being selected for verification. If you did not use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool when you first completed the FAFSA, you may login to your FAFSA again and make corrections by using the IRS Data Retrieval Tool to transfer your tax information.

Most FAFSAs are filed online and signed electronically using a Federal Student Aid ID (or FSA ID).

After your FAFSA has been processed, the Financial Aid Office will notify you about your eligibility for financial aid. The financial aid award letter includes information about how to accept aid. Most general financial aid information is applicable to students enrolled full-time on campus during the regular fall and spring semesters.

Selected for Verification

Students will be notified by email and/or mail that they have been selected for verification on their FAFSA. This notification will be sent by the Financial Aid Office. This verification notice will state what items are needed for verification. Please submit all paperwork at the same time. Forms are located under “Financial Aid Forms”. Financial aid awards will not be finalized until the Financial Aid Office has completed the student’s verification.

  3. Select “Make FAFSA Corrections”.
  4. Navigate to the financial information section of the form for the student (all students) and parent (dependent students).
