Brandi Venvertloh, MSN, RN, CPN, Assistant Professor, Blessing-Rieman College of Nursing & Health Sciences, has been recognized as one of the “40 Under 40 Emerging Nurse Leaders in Illinois” for 2016 by the Illinois Nurses Foundation.  The award celebrates and encourages dedication to the nursing profession, dedicated service within the community and the promise to grow in leadership for the advancement of nursing in Illinois. Venvertloh will be recognized for her accomplishment during an award recognition program in Chicago on September 22.

Venvertloh was nominated by fellow Blessing-Rieman faculty member Susan McReynolds.  The nomination detailed Venvertloh’s idea to create a two-day “Explore Nursing” camp during the summer for high school students interested in a nursing career, her involvement in leadership of the Pi Pi Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, her pursuit of a Doctorate in Nursing Education while maintaining her full-time faculty position and other responsibilities and the involvement of she and her husband in the Teens Encounter Christ program.

Venvertloh earned her Master of Science in Nursing degree from Blessing-Rieman and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree through Culver-Stockton College/Blessing-Rieman College.  She is a nationally Certified Pediatric Nurse (CPN).
